Video: Christine and Robyn Heart to Heart

Looks like the saga of Christine's needing to smooth those rough spots continues...

157 comments:

  1. So each week we are going to see Christine going to another sister wife and apologizing and/or seeking advice as to how to appease Kody. I will say it again, this is scripted or forced by Kody. Its as if Kody said, "you WILL go talk to Robyn and apologize because you almost ruined this family" (i.e. the birth of Sol episode). The clip is interesting because even though Robyn is crying, Christine just has a kind of chilly look about her. Like last week with Meri, she keeps saying "part of this is Kody's fault, he promised to be there and he wasn't". Have we been told the whole truth? Does Kody really spend every 4th day with each wife or has he been not staying with one or more wives in favor of another? Just seems like there is more to the situation. Whenever asked about the arrangement, they all say vague things like "it is fluid", "it is flexible"....I think its possible that Kody may not be spending any time at all with Christine.

But the underlying theme of the show is 'this lifestyle makes us all better' and they are all so unhappy. How is this making anyone better?

    1. I think a spinoff show is order Kody Christie and Janelle should leave and see how Robin and Kody makes it without their support.

    2. CPA Carol asks, "Have we been told the whole truth?"

No Way... and we won't be told the whole truth ever. it's a REALITY show! LOL

    3. Hell no we haven't been told the whole truth & most likely never will!! There's no way he can spend every 4th night in fair rotation anyways, since he's always gone & busy. They said last season, that he was spending more time at Robyn's esp around Sol's due date, etc...

    4. I agree that we haven't been told the whole truth even though we pretty much have figured it out, that Kody is an abusive asshole & it's Kody's way or the highway! Instead of "WE" in these marraiges, it's "ME" as in KODY and everything else, including the Children is secondary plain and simple!!

    6. In the previous episode, look closely at Meri's bedroom clock on her side table after Kody gives her her breakfast in bed. Meri's bedroom clock read 10:56 or 57 am, as Kody was saying goodbye to Meri, when he was leaving to go to Janelle's for "their date". Then look closely at Janelle's kithen clock for the time he arrives at her house. There is an est time of 40 min from the time he leaves Meri's to the time he arrives at Janelle's. Robyn's house is on the way to Janelle's from Meri's. I wonder, did he drop in on Robyn on his way to Janelle's?

    7. You can certainly see these women are in pain. Kody walks around like a roster in a hen house. And the women try to figure out ways to make him want them. I find this so sickening. Clearly this is a MAN MADE belief system. I just don't understand why any woman would fall for this bull.

    8. I so want to see the missing 40 minutes of tape now!! What happened? Did Kody get lost? Did his head get stuck in the doorway as he was leaving Meri's? Did the new car's transmission mess up because it sucked in too much of Kody's shedding hair?

      inquiring minds want to know!

      Delete
    9. The 40 minutes between Meri and Janelle's is probably due to the film crew having to break down/move equipment and so on.

      Delete
  2. Well, you know Robyn is getting more than her 25 percent. Christine and Janelle are surely getting less. They are lucky to get maybe 10 percent of Kody's attention.

    1. I'm thinking

      50% Robyn
      30% Meri
      10% Janelle
      10% Christine

    2. Of course Robyn gets more attention especially since Christine is acting up...lol.

If I were Christine I would gladly give up every one of my nights w/that POS..she could have him!!

    3. Lesbian4Janelle - probably pretty accurate. especially on 0% being left over for the kids. unless you want to reduce Robyn's to 40% and 10% for HER kids. ;')

also, i agree w/some other past posters. i also get a strong closeted gay vibe on both Kody and Meri. sadly, their religion makes no allowance for that if they are.

I think I need off this ride. Just leave already, Christine.

They're terrible actors, that's real, raw pain. If my sister were in this position, I'd drive across the country to Vegas, pick her and her million kids up and keep them with me. It's completely beyond belief to me that anyone would want this for their daughter. Post-partum depression is no joke. It's not a personal failing, it's not a spiritual inadequacy.

Even ignoring that not-small part which could destroy a functional family without love and support, she was treated like caca. She was abandoned super-pregnant for the hot new wife. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. And then she has to go make the rounds and apologize to the entire harem for upsetting his majesty and not staying sweet. Sick.

    1. Somebody in the Brown camp thinks this is making good tv.

You have to wonder what warped mind would think showing a woman in pain and agony would make for good tv. That person would have to be a real, coldhearted, calculating, selfserving, egotistical, unfeeling, creep of a human being who probably doesn't even make breakfast for his own kids, but will check their social media accounts for any indiscretions in a hot second. I guess you all know who I'm talking about.

    2. Peanutbutter,
I thought Christine married Kody when Janelle was pregnant as well. I could be wrong....

    3. When I started watching this show, I was pro-whatever with consenting adults. Well, they sure convinced me otherwise. Now I really get the oppression and the nastiness of polygamy, even without a compound and child brides. Kody's surfer dude hair doesn't fool me.

If Christine were my sister, and that witch told her to keep sweet on national TV, I would also do anything to help her out of this mess.

      Delete
    4. You are right SheilaAnn!

On page 95 of their book Meri says "At the time of Janelle's pregnancy with her first child Logan, Kody decided to pursue a courtship with Christine."

I even wrote in the margin 'a pattern?'

And sure enough, when Christine is pregnant with Truely, Kody is courting Robyn.

      Delete
    5. I agree. When I first started watching the show... I was like OK consenting adults... no problem. But from watching this train wreck my heart hurts for these women. I really want to know exactly HOW these women are brainwashed into not only accepting "sister wives" BUT to actually SEEK men that want to have sister wives. What a hugh scam.

  4. You know, if you ever glance at the FB page, there are a couple chicks on there who are so crazy!!

One said a couple days ago she was raised LDS, and is torn because she's been taught plural marriage on earth is wrong, but she doesn't agree; then she started arguing more and more crazy with every negative comment. Now she makes a beligerant argument toward every single post that is not praising her--and she has her own fans(!); she's up to claiming that she was raised in polygamy, knows Kody and Christine's families, and, and, and. . . She says she's on the hunt for a family to join, send messages to the pervy dudes who post, and refers to her ex-husband; on her own page, her husband--who is apparently away with the army, and she wrote on her page that she lives on post (which is grounds to get him busted, BTW)--wrote a lovely happy anniversary post like 3 weeks ago! Even their fans are insane liars. If I'm entirely honest, I couldn't care less about polygamy itself. I don't agree with Hinduism or Catholocism but I am respectful of everyone's belief systems. It's how people can overlook the the constant, pathological need to lie that baffles me.

    1. Was this their "Like" or the hardcore "Friend" facebook fan pages? I just went over there to take a look and it seems the Browns still refuse to post on the "Like" page. Someone called Kody Brown Family retypes whatever the wives type on the "Friend" page into a comment on the "Like" page. Its so funny and ridiculous at the same time. The fans are like, who are you. What a mess!

  5. Where are they, an Applebee's? Doesn't seem to be the right venue at all to be discussing something so personal.

Week after next: Christine has an advice chat with Janelle?

  6. Of course if a 4th wife comes in, the piece of Kody Pie you're getting gets smaller, and if that 4th wife is some young, skinny, "hot" wife and your future planet´s God is Kody, well, you are getting even less.

Kody pretends to be all airy, goofy, fluffy, fun, clueless, but he really seems to have a dark side. I think in private he is very abusive. Just look how they all walk on eggshells when he's around. You may nog notic it in the moving video, but go watch some free stream online and take random screencaps when kody's on screen and you will notice this really evil, aggresive look. I don't think he's physically aggresive, just verbally and emotionally.

Check out my link if you wanna see some of those screencaps and you'll see what I'm talking about.

    1. I agree with what you are saying. In this last episode Christine even said that Kody was not the fun guy she thought he was. I think he is actually very mean and hard to be around. What we see is an act and if one watches closely you can see the evil looks he gets.

  7. It sad that they are willing to reach fame at all cost but love that Christine is putting on air how Kody really is a dirt ball.

  8. Question: Why would Robyn call her mother for advice? Didn't she divorce her father? So, obviously something is amiss.

    1. I thought the same thing when Robyn was touting her "Honeymoon Experience" last season. It must not have been too successful if her mother got divorced, right?

We may never get a straight answer from these ladies...

      Delete
    2. I just had a thought....wouldn't it be something if Robyn ends up leaving Kody & breaking his heart?!? Bet, he'd go running straight to Christine for comfort, lol.

      Delete
    3. No, he'd probably go running to Meri and blame Christine for Robyn leaving because she was mean to Robyn!

      Delete
    4. Didn't Robyn say that her mom was divorced and then remarried the stepdad that treated her like his own?

      Delete
    5. Robyn would never leave! her situation was improved immensely w/this family's inclusion. Christina would be the one threatened by Kody and Meri (after a crying pity party from Robyn) that if she doesn't straighten up and kiss Robyn's ass, then she'll be asked to leave. Meri will NEVER admit that she screwed up the whole family dynamic w/her choice of such a passive/aggressive manipulator who Kody's gaga head over heels smitten with. another thing Meri can't let herself admit.

      Delete
  9. Robyn has told so many lies, she has no credibility anymore. When she was dating Kody, she was all about "i want the same fairy tale marriage my parents had. i saw firsthand that the honeymoon romance can last forever." not quoting her exact words but the main gist of what she said. Janelle told her that was unrealistic w/a twinkly-eyed smile. Probably because she already knew that Robyn's parents were divorced but Robyn didn't mention that until the next season in an offhanded way.

    1. perhaps Robyn was describing a fairy tale marriage between her mother and her stepfather.

    2. then she should have clarified that it wasn't her parents or her mom and dad like she stated. and her stepdad came across as weird in her room during the birth. where was her mom? we saw the stepdad in a couple of episodes but not the mom nor any mention of her. does anyone know how long her stepdad's been her stepdad? i haven't read their book.

  10. This breaks my heart. Christine, you are a wonderful person who deserves so much more. There is so much more out here for you. Life can be wonderful with a family that loves you...for you, not what you can do for them! A real marriage is so great, with a man who loves only you, and is ONE with you. I wish you could know....Read Jacob 2 in the Book of Mormon. Read the Bible and the Book of Mormon yourself. See what you find out. Do you really think that God is a selfish, uncaring man like your husband--one who leaves his children to others to take care of? One who ignores the needs and desires of his family? Someone who only cares about his wants and desires, and never cares about yours? That isn't the God of the Bible, that is for sure! You do not need this man to get into heaven. You need Jesus Christ. Watch this: http://susanrayschmidt.com/lifting-the-veil-video/

  11. Why didn't Robyn go to Meri for advice like Christine? Why was Christines body language saying something totally different than her scripted lips? You know that the bubbly nurturing Christine would have been hugging the crying twit if he really meant what she said.
Oh Christine, I really hope you find the strength to leave! I'm praying for you...an abusive husband is bad no matter how many wives he thinks he needs to control, Run Christine Run!

    1. Don't you see how passive aggression came out of Christine at the lunch with Robyn. Christine has no self esteem and she wants everyone to hurt with her. TV or no none of the characters, adults, have self-esteem. The kids have to get out of there the day they turn 18 if they are able...then again who can figure it out..it is a TV show. Only after the TV show is cancelled with it hit the fan.

  12. It makes me so sad that Christine feels that she needs to apologize, when it should be everybody apologizing to her. Does Kody really not realize that he abandoned her emotionally? Christine must notice how much love and attention Sol is getting from Kody, and he didn't even care about Truely's birth, because he was away kissing his girlfriend, getting married to her, and going on an extended honeymoon.

It seems like the only one who pays attention to Truely is Hunter, who is demonized because he won't bow to Robyn...

    It just makes me sad.

    1. Dear Producers,
This is going to get old really quickly. See, while we do like watching the train wreck happen before our eyes, we do not like seeing the perceived victim being victimized by the two wives that are the least liked. Let me explain this as simply as I possibly can in order to try to get you to understand. We all would like to see evolution of character or evolution of strength—we want to see them develop into a more humanistic human/humans. It is certain just as sure as death and taxes that Kodsturd isn’t going to change…he is, how shall we put it…misogynistic and a little dim witted. And, Robyn-No-Character is unable to admit that she isn’t a sympathetic character. Her desire to be Kodsturd’s number one wife has left her somewhat blinded to the point of not even relating to other women. If she did relate to other women, she would know that humility might make her a little more likeable. Then of course, there’s stupid fat assed Meri. By the way, I believe I read that she and her daughter eat healthier than the other wives…then how does she explain her and her almost grotesquely overweight daughter’s BMI?

You see, we do not want to see the unlikable characters stay the same or get worse. What we want to see is Christine to get a freaking backbone and quit groveling. We want her to tell Robyn-No-Character that she is a piece of shit and she can move up on the food chain to wife number three, cause she, Christine, is moving out and up with her life. We want to see her take her children and get a house or apartment and take her sad assed life into her own control. We also want to see Janelle get the hell out of dodge. And since the other three—Kodsturd, Robyn-No-Character, and Closeted Meri –are so quick to talk about co-parenting and since Janelle isn’t the best parent in the world, I think she should leave her kids with their daddy and his two wives.
Then, I want Janelle to get a job, get a small house, and tell the other three to take a flying leap up her buttock.
Now that will make a good reality program. Walk away from the Kodsturd and his the two bad wives and invest time and money in developing Janelle and Christine as strong, independent women. Have the show revolve around them building their lives and leaving the trash at the garbage dump where it belongs.

    3. @Zelda. The producers know all this, for sure. I think they realize it's just a question of time with this trainwreck. Something has to hit the fan. And, of course, we'll all be watching for that moment.

It also makes my husband look like Husband and Father of the Year and generally makes me feel like my crazy life is under control -- like Jon & Kate did. So, that's nice.

  14. It's kind of amazing that a Plyg first wife would go on national TV and tell her sister wife to "keep sweet" like Meri did. That is the kind of thing that escapees from the FLDS write about in their memoirs, that paints Polygamy in such an evil light. The underage marriages are aweful, but those are crimes of individuals. It is the constant abuse of the women in terms of invalidating their emotions, annihilating their self esteem and depriving them any sense of autonomy or worth that is the institutional outrage.

Displaying that abuse openly on National TV shows that it really is their way of life that they accept blindly.

    2. I kind of think this is where TLC comes in....the Browns don't know any other way of life so they don't even think their way is wrong or distorted. The Browns keep saying they want to show the world that polygamists are not all like Warren Jeffs and I agree, they are not bonnet-wearing, young-girl assigning lunatics or anything.......and I think most of us get that, they are not of the Warren Jeffs sect. However, they are polygamists and the emotional abuse and complete disregard for the women's self esteem is absolutely the norm in polygamy.

    3. Just shows how dumb these people are. Meri most likely thought she would come across as knowledgable in counselling, after all she does want to work with at risk youths. Problem is she looked like an overbearing and extremely mean first wife. Shut up and enjoy the ride, great advice to live by.

    4. The browns (well janelle and kody) do know another way. They were lds and it's patriarchal, but it isnt this twisted. I grew up in the lds church and we weren't told to stay sweet. It just shows how dumb they are.

  15. Another, sad video TLC is using to bait viewers(last Sunday they only had 1.8 viewers, slowly but surely dropping!)...
Then I'm sure in the end, they'll both be all huggy & kissy, & tweetN away that they're all in a better place now, blah, blah, blah BS!!
Seriously, this shiznit is getting old, & Christine does need an intervention! WishN there was a "refuge" person available to go up to Christine in public & have a chat w/ her & offer her refuge, just to see if she's even interested in it!

Also, if we had a facial expression & body language expert on here, that could do screen shots of emotional turmoil, etc...that would be awesome too! Like they used to do on that one tv show, #Lie To Me .....
I've been doing research on facial expressions & the Browns expressions & body language speaks volumes! Just wish we had an interpreter!

  17. When Christine's finishes this clip by saying, "It's hard...."
My thought was *what is HARD* is to watch these women having an alleged *heart to heart* in a *public place* with cameras and microphones on them !!
    Phony, bogus, scripted, not-REAL.....!!!

Just another scene in the KodyWorld show where Kody is in his true element, loving (adoring) the camera, loving the spotlight...BUT.....needing these four women to support and play HIS game for the cameras.

Can't even imagine what the producer/writer planning meetings must be like at TLC as they strategically come up with scenarios for these women to *act out.*

Can you just imagine what it must be like for them??? "
You want me (us) to do what??" You want me to say what???

Because if this is REALLY what their life struggles are all about....WHY would they want it broadcast to the world....inviting criticism and intensely personal intrusion and judgement on themselves??

The old saying about "what people will do for money" certainly rings true here, but there is definitely another factor in all of this as was mentioned regarding the comments made by his former classmates from high school.
That ** Kody is an attention addict.**
The video of Meri and his wedding supports that too. It just had to be more about HIM than it was about her or "them."

What is sad and really not amusing anymore is just how far this wannabe is willing to go, how far he is willing to have these women subjugate their privacy, their dignity, their emotional health to cater to and enable his addiction !!!

I am convinced now that this is not so much about his beliefs and/or trying to maneuver the government to give them all a pass for all the freebies (which of course obviously he does want)....
It is as much, if not more, about Kody finding a perfect vehicle for his insatiable need for attention and fame!

Be damned with how demeaning it may be for his wives..his *lovers*...his children...
As others have said here today....
It is all *about and for*.... HIM.

Unfortunately, from the Previews & Episodes I've seen so far, I think this Season is gonna be a whole lot more of the same, "ROBYN, ROBYN, ROBYN"...As if we haven't had enuff of her! If that's the case, I honestly don't know how much more I'll be able to take!!

She also doesn't seem like she wants out, or she would have done it back when she first left. She had less kids, her own home, and a good job. She chose to stay with him and move into the big house. She won't leave him either.

Don't recall the "where do I put my bills." but that's not too much of a surprise bc they don't pay their bills anyway, they just rotate bankruptcies, so that probably made perfect sense to her and the rest of the Brown adults!!

  21. I can't believe that the tabloids and websites are running stories about when Janelle left. She did that in 2001 or 2002, which is 10 or 11 years ago. How is that news? And sensational news at that? And she only left him for 3 years b/c there is only a 3 year difference between her last 2 children. Also, she had to reconcile with the family and help them file another bankruptcy in 2005. Gotta put that accounting degree from some un-named, unknown, possibly non-existent school to work!

And to all those who say Kody makes our husbands look good, I say this.... I know ex-husbands and ex-boyfriends who treat their female friends better than Kody. I have known exes to help out a sick or ill ex-spouse and ex-boyfriends who send flowers to an ex-girl-friend on her birthday just to cheer her up. So Kody makes lots of men look good, IMO. Which makes me really wonder how badly a woman must have been treated to want to be Kody's second, third, fourth and fith wife. How bad was Janelle's first husband, Meri's brother? Did he offer her so little attention and affection and so little hope for a family that she was willing to put up with Meri's bullying and Kody's not being romantic just to get some affection and to have chidren? I don't believe that they are in love now or ever really were. Kody says he has only felt giddy with Robyn. I think that it has probably been years since Kody has shown Janelle authentic attention or affection. Probalby not since they reconciled in 2004 or 2005. That is soooo said.

    1. I remember Christine saying she wanted the "family, not the man." Perhaps her home life before she got married was horrible, and she looked for affection in the wrong place (Kody).

  22. How very sad that Christine is made to go eat crow with all these women. You can tell she'd rather be any place besides right there with Robyn and doesn't mean most of what she's saying.

What's wrong with them having this chat at one of their homes? Why do they have to go out in public to do this? Bizarre.

It's amazing to me that more polygamist husband's aren't murdered in their sleep if "be sweet" is the advice given for everything. I'd be driven to murder, I just know it!

Thanks for your reviews, videos and this site. It gives me a place to vent after screaming at the TV while the show is airing!

  23. CJ: first can i just say "You complete me!". Seriously, you ROCK!

Second, I realize this post is all over the map. Humor me, and I will dig up the supporting references soon.

    1. You must watch the episodes at least rwice. Seriousy, so much is revealed second time thru.

    2. Kody's Mom made the move from LDS to plyg while Kody was away performinghis years of service. For an 18-19-20 YO guy, wouldn'tthat be like coming Home and hitting the lotto? Makes me incredibly curious about her reasons.

    3. There's a clip on this sitewhere Meri talks about her initial attraction to Kody. She gives a quote implying that she was ambivalent about adopting plug until she fell in love with young Kody, but that she was willing to embrace plyg because she was so in love.

    4. I've seen conflicting statements about whether Janelle was or was NOT LDS before Kody. I'm leaning towards NOT.

PLAY OUT A LITTLE TIMELINE WITH ME....

Janelle marries Meri's brother Adam. Meri and Kody get married. Surely there's a Thanksgiving or Easter or something where the four of them are at the dinner table.

    Janelle divorces Adam.

Sne THEN moves to a teepee in WYOMING....in NOVEMBERandafter a week, figures ut that it is NOVEMBER and she is in a teepee.

Kody's parents offer for her to pitch her teepee on their land. Meri and the oh so hot Kody also live in Wyoming.

Janelle decides she'd like to become an AUB...next wife, blah blah.

Her family denounces her, her mother meets Kody's papa Winn and she wants her some AUB too. Her mama and Winn beet Janelke and Kody to the alter.

I haven't seen any indications that Winn had mltipke wives until Janelle's mom married Winn. Kody's mom has said it was hard on her, she was jealous.

    THINK ABOUT THIS FAMILY DYNAMIC.

Add to it, the fact that it seems like both Janelle and Christine became pregnant before Meri. That had to be tough for her. At this point she andKody are at what, the 3 year mark with non babies?

Meri had NO ONE. Even trips to the inlaws became Janelle and her Momma plus I would Winn and his own motives for pushing that everybody needs to mame it work. Seriously isn't this already disfunctional HELL?

Add to that Christine wanting to be a THIRD wife always. Is there a typical expectation that there are usually three wives? Was it rigj for her to think she was to be the "last"? I just want to get my head around the dynamic. It bugs ne a bit...something I can't yet put my finger on.....

    1. Add to that Christine wanting to be a THIRD wife always. Is there a typical expectation that there are usually three wives?

From what I've read, and of course this is my interpretation, there are a bunch of rules in place. With 7 wives (called a quorum) a man automatically gets his own planet and becomes a god with his wives as his goddesses in the celestial afterlife. With 2 wives, if the man has lived his earthly life in a righteous manner, he will become a god with his wives as his goddesses. A woman cannot be a goddess without being sealed to righteous man as he will pull her into his heaven. If an unmarried or monogamist woman dies, she becomes an angel in the celestial afterlife and serves the god and goddesses on their planet.(Irene Spencer: Shattered Dreams My Life as a Polygamist's Wife)

So it behooves the man to have at least 2 wives, with more being better.

A pattern I see in Spencer's book and in other documentaries about polygamy as well as Sister Wives, is that while polygamist men talk about getting the approval of their wives before courting another wife that doesn't always takes place and many wives are surprised when their husband announces his intention to court a prospective wife (like Meri was, for instance with Janelle).

Also, Spencer mentions that in her particular fundamental sect, a husband couldn't have sex with a pregnant wife. Maybe this explains why we see Kody with this pattern of courting someone new while a wife is pregnant.

Last, from what I gather from the Spencer and Schmidt books, it seemed like the newest wives (usually after 3) did believe they were going to be the last wife, and they became very 'upset' when the husband courted and married new wives. These women were very cognizant that more wives = more competition for scarce resources (food, clothing, funds, husband's time and affection) and resented the new wife - even if the women had been close friends before the courtship/marriage. It just reminded me of how Meri acted when Janelle came on the scene. And what a bunch of bs Kody's saying 'Love is to be multiplied not divided' really is.

I'm actually reading several books right now to research some questions I have. I hope to be able to share my conclusions with all of you eventually.

    2. ALI_B_B - re: your #4 - Janelle has stated herself on the show as well as talk show interviews that she was raised in the mainstream LDS church and didn't have any experience w/polygamy before this. I'm thinking she initailly learned all about it being married to Meri's brother who was raised in polygamy. and then the rest is history...

    3. Big shout out on the Irene Spencer and Susan Scmidt books....I have read both of them and they lay it all out there. Each night after I would read a chapter of two of their books, I would tell myself how grateful I was to have a real bed and not have to gring my own wheat to feed my family. Comparatively, the Brown Wives have it made.

Doesn't it seem that Kody will want a quorum? Maybe he has voiced that to Robyn thus leading her to questions his 'capacity' for more children? He totally thinks he needs his own planet.

  25. A little mkre rambling.....

    1. I feel SO sorry for Kody that the plyg arrangement on him than the wives.

    2. Wasn't Kody teaching Meri o ski without her having any SKI POLES???? Hiw on earth do you steer, turn and stop when you're careening down a mountain with no ability to slow down, stop, or avoid hazards????

    3. The skibpatrol said when examing Meri that if it were his wife, he would get her to emergency roo. Can we ask him please if he could clarify whether he means first, second, third or fourth wife? It's the only way I can interpret whathe'sstated.

    4. For next week's preview, Christine mentions jealousy to Robin and Robin tears up. Check out the look on Chrstine's face, like "Areyou kidding me? I ADMIT my deepest fears and, of course, Robyn get to cry!!!"

    5. Has anyoneelse noticedthe lack of teenagers, them on the couch, etc????

Those kids are amazing, smart, intelligent, and ENTITLED to go through high school without any baggae fro. a popular reality show. I ,iss them because I like them, I just find it interesting that we haven't seen hardly any of the olderkids.

As far asthe Christmas episode, I REALLY REaLLY hopethere were gifts and presents opened and exchanged off camera.

If NOT, then I would my parents I'm not funding their trios, presents and self indulgence!!!!

I cannot help but have thus sense that neither Kody nor the wiveshave proof of a successful plyg upbringong. Christine's momma fiked for divorce, Janelle and ber mother may have fallen for the guy, not the religion. Kody's mother brought AUB into the famiky but was insanely jealous when it became a reality. Meri's parents did not add plural wife until 6? kids and18 ?years of marriage or something. Odd. Whatever Robyn's upbringing, her first marriage endedin divorce.

I love Robyn discussing Kody's capacity versus ability to love another child. NOTE TO ROBYN, next time use the word .." money" instead of "capacity". Call it like it is.

I am also incredibly disapointed that these adults do not appear to be exercising sound financial management. It just seems like if TLC went away tomorrow, the money'd be gone in 4 or 6 months and boom--kids have Nithing.

LAST, I kept scratching my head over Meri's trip to Mexico... she went 2 years ago, when do Janelle and Christine get a turn. Then I got it---- 1. Perfect setting for Kody to sell the surrogate baby Idea, ratings, next season's story line

    AND

    2. Kody feelz guilty for sending Meri down a steep ravine in the Rocky mountains...without.... oh yeah...a SKI POLE!!!!

Long post I know...just several things keep bouncing around....still something I can't put my finger on yet.

Also am planning to propose a new reality show idea to TLC..."My big fat gypsy sister wives wedding!!!" where uou get to live in the ugly stacked double wide McMansion....i really think I coukd sell it!!!!

    1. Me, too. I felt that Christine was telling the truth when she said that she was mad at Kody. He basically abandoned her during and after her pregnancy. He'd likely have done that with any new wife.

OTOH, I didn't believe Christine when she said that she wasn't mad at Robyn because I think she was mad and/or jealous of her. Robyn wasn't just another wife; she was getting attention from Kody in a way that Christine never received. It wasn't just that Kody was being a dick - Robyn was manipulating Kody into spending more time with her.

I don't think Kody is spending any time with Christine except for what TLC requires.

I want Christine to leave because I believe she deserves better but I've been wondering how Kody would react if she did try to leave. Would he let her go? Or would she have to sneak away in the middle of the night in order to avoid his wrath? I hope that she is setting things up to go and that these interviews are sending her family the message that she might need help to get away. I think the show's editors might be on her side and are making sure that the message is getting through.

I wonder if Kody realizes how badly he and his religion are portrayed in this show? There aren't many people who would want this life. And as we see more of him, it becomes more clear that he is just as controlling and nuts as Warren Jeffs is, albeit in a different way.

  29. @ali_b_b...I can't type on my iPad either ;).

This show is all about bullying and abuse, and that's only the part we get to see! It's evident in the kids behavior. Last season, they were picking on Robyn's kids, this season it's fist fights with each other. These kids are learning from the adults.

It's obvious from the book that Meri is a major bully and she's abusive to the other wives. Robyn is a passive aggressive manipulator who thinks she can hide her bully techniques. Kody..well he's a major control freak and let's not think for one minute he's has happy go lucky as he wants to make us think he is. Usually when people overcompensate, they have something dark to hide and this guy is hiding a lot.

So Christine is getting bullied by Kody because he'll never accept any responsibility. Meri is bullying her to "keep sweet" and I'll bet her off camera treatment of Christine is horrible. Robyn is turning on the waterworks, but I"m sure she's rubbing it in big time off camera as well.

Janelle, she seems kind of out of it, more so this season. I'm wondering if she's taking something to help her stay zen and removed. It was in the book that she was bullied by Meri and if Kody didn't see her for a while after she moved out, then he too was game playing and abusing her emotionally.

I too would love to see what a body language expert has to say about this crew. I"m sure it would be nothing different then my own intuition has already told me.

    Love this blog!

I agree that it seems like the repeated lesson that keeps getting emphasized is that this lifestyle mostly teaches one to bully but not outwardly so. you MUST become skilled at manipulative passive/aggressive bullying to get your way and your voice heard. unless you're the man. then you just get to pull your penis #1 ranking. 1 penis beats 4 vaginas every time.

  30. I wish Christine would just ball-up already and deal with Kody head on seriously!! ^This melodramatic BS is starting to get old. Christine clearly you blame Robyn on some level as you should. However Robyn ain't going anywhere as long as the cameras are rolling so maybe ypou should make the first move and leace. I bet TLC would still pay you to show us how your life is turning out. In the meantime you wouldn't have to feel like a second class citizen because where is your pride woman. What are you teaching your girls????? They barely have a dad around as it is. But yeah maybe this story line needs to be wrapped and we move on to Kody getting a 5th wife...

    2. No, you are not evil (unless I am evil as well). I have posted previously that I want him to start a'courtin' another wife who is younger, prettier (well, by their standards), and more manipulative than Robyn- and I want him to do it while she is pregnant. TLC would be wise to lay down the law and tell them no new season unless it involves Surfer Dude laying his sweet vibes on a new prospect. Not only would I love to see Robyn squirm, but it could also be the impetus that Janelle and/or Christine need to get off Crazy Island.

    3. i honestly don't see Kody going wife shopping while he's still so smitten w/Robyn. he's truly happy with her. and enjoying Sol. He's King Kody over at Robyn's and he's not anywhere else. Robyn's situation was actually improved by Kody. Who's going to be as desperate as her plus skinnier plus cuter and want Kodouche now? He's got to wait til he gets them houses and jobs before he can offer anybody else anything.

Plus the next one that gets approved i think is going to have to bring something to the table this time besides 3 extra kids and a lotta debt when they walk in the door. If you've got something on the ball at all, why would you knowingly come into this mess now? Oh, that's right - there's a bunch of bottom feeder women on their fan site begging to be his 5th wife. Would LOVE to see what they look like as well as their education/income level!! I bet some of them and their situations they're in where joining Kody's now would be an improvement would probably curl your toenails if we only knew.

But more importantly, I want to see Janelle and Christine get their own show. (and lives, including makeovers and all...)

Robyn can cry, cry and cry...because Sister Wives tanked without #2 and #3. And Bully Meri will contend with TWO "pretty" wives although I don't find Robyn attractive.

The two departing "wives" are being treated like breeding stock in this environment.

Time to turn Christine and Janelle into REAL women who want a monogamous man.

  34. Not a body language expert, but check out how many times Christine uses the 'hand over mouth' (even in the still here on vid clip) while talking to Robyn and Meri! She does this while speaking and/or while Robyn is speaking. It is thought to mean (while speaking) that one is lying/doesn't mean what she is saying. When doing it while someone else is speaking-Robyn, in this case, Christine doing this means she doesn't believe what Robyn is saying, thinks she is lying. Watch the vid clip again or the show from Sunday. She does it with Meri too. Classic! She knows they are both full of crap. Too bad she doesn't know how to get the hell out of there!! I know it's hard with 6 kids, but she could do it if she could only SEE past all this crap being dumped on her.

It does try hubby's patience though....he thinks I am way too invested in their lives, LOL.

Whenever Meri or Janelle talks, I notice that the camera will pan to Janelle and she will have a very pained, "gth" smile on her face. Especially when Meri likes to crow about how she was never jealous of Janelle because Kody's attraction to her was not romantic. Janelle had a gth smile on her face that was hilarious.

I am off to watch the episode again to catch more body language cues.

  36. I wonder if Robyn's mother was the last wife for a long time hence the "honeymoon experience" for years but then a new wife was added which lead to their divorce.

Robyn better watch out too and look around. Kody has a pattern of courting a woman when a wife is pregnant and he has had big issues with all of them at one time or another. So, once the newness wears off or if she gets pregnant again, she may not be experiencing the same thing. Something tells me she will get hers and have to suffer too like the rest of them.

    1. Hey Baylor, I can't help but think Robyn IS pregnant again. In the couch sessions, she's very "puffy" in the face, full in the boobs and hasn't been sitting on the sides during interviews. I'm guessing the editors piece together the all film footage they shot after the filming season has wrapped up and then much, much later have the Browns sit down to point out certain things/discuss various topics/drop names for product placement, etc. (hey, it takes time to figure out how to spin things for ratings and throw in damage control). Those couch moments could be closer to today's time then the actual footage they are discussing. We've heard snippets and teases here and there of another kid, so, if she is preggers again, the cliffhanger of the year is: "Is this baby #2 for Kody and Robyn, or is this Meri's miracle baby?"

If/when Robyn does get pregnant again, it will be very interesting to see if Kody continues his typical pattern or not. I can't imagine him adding another wife nor ignoring Robyn like he did with Christine, but you never know! Karma can be a real stinker sometime, eh?!

    4. the bottom line is that Robyn made it a point to tell the other wives she planned to keep the romance alive in her marriage like her parents did. and then next season when she nonchalantly had her stepdad show up - she didn't feel the need to explain that nor did any of the other ones call her on it. maybe they weren't allowed to cause it would just cause a scene and make her cry for being called out on it.

    1. OK ladies, correct me if I'm wrong. . .
Baylor: here's a quickie history, as I understand it of all the families involved, just to catch you up.

Meri's father had 5 wives, but did not take a second wife until he was married about 18 years or so. She has many, many siblings (including 6 from her own mother). Meri's father was married to 2 of Robin's ex-husband's aunts.
Robin's natural parents were divorced, and her mother married her step-father, as his second wife--whom she has stated he did not acknowledge in public. She has referred to only 1 other sibling, that I know of.

Christine's father was the son of Rulon Allred, a founder and the president of the AUB (Allred Group), with his second wife. [He was murdered by her Aunt, a member of the Lebaron Group]. Her parents did not actually practice plural marriage before their divorce, and I have read that her father left the Allred group, outright--but I don't absolutely know that to be true. She has said that she told her Grandfather to accept, if Kody asked about courting her, but I don't know if she was referring to Owen Allred (to whom her grandmother may have been sealed, following Rulon's murder) or to Floren Lebaron (her mother's father) of the Lebaron Group. [I get the idea her mother returned to the Lebarons after the divorce, if she did, she is probaby sealed to another husband by now. I find it unlikely that she would remain unsealed, to wander alone celestially for eternity--especially since she does not appear on camera] As for Janelle, she was raised LDS and had only 1 half-sibling, that I know of (and 17 step-siblings through Kody's father). Her father died when she was an infant, and her mother remarried. I forget if she was widowed or divorced, but either way, she married Kodster's father right before Janelle and K-douche got married. She was one of 3 wives of Kody's father. To make it even more easy to swallow, Kody's mother is a related to Christine (maybe a second cousin?). Janelle has stated that her entire family, except her mother have turned their backs on her for leaving the LDS.

Don't forget too that Kody broke several of the family rules with Robyn - he kissed her before "marriage", helped her pick out her wedding dress and then had the gall to take her on a long honeymoon that the others did not get. When is he going to apologize for that?

    1. Amen! Kody and Robyn started things off all wrong, and that was bound to make the other wives distrustful. While I think Christine needs to rethink this "religion" she's so gung ho for, she has a point. If you're going to be a polygamist father/husband, you need to give everybody equal time. Sadly, that can't ever be achieved, so this type of wacky arrangement will NEVER work. I know you believe it can Christine, but this fairytale you're dreaming of can never be. Just accept it. It only works for the male and whomever the favorite wife is. That's why Kody and Robyn are so happy, and that's why Christine and Kody were so happy until recently.

    1. I love the idea dont you!!!but will the kids even want to go thats the question?lol

    2. It wouldn't work that way, unfortunately. In polygamist 'divorces' the kids usually go with the Mom and the Mom then finds another polygamist man that she can be sealed to for all eternity so that she and her kids can get into the celestial kingdom. Or maybe the kids can still get into heaven with their original dad, not quite sure on that one. I have read a lot of books and articles on polygamy and divorce is not all that uncommon (heck, I think Janelle's, Christine's and Robyn's moms all left their dads and remarried into polygamy...don't recall Meri's moms' story), they just divorce and remarry into another plural marriage.

I doubt anyone is seriously thinking about leaving for now...they are relatively well off financially for polygamists (most plyg families are living in abject poverty) and the kids are young. Given them ten or twenty years, a couple of them may bolt and find another guy to get sealed to. But for now, it's unlikely they will leave. Not that TLC won't make it a plot line "Will Christine leave....season finale show". But I kind of doubt anyone is going anywhere.

  41. I'm trying really hard to put myself in Christine's shoes....

She's depressed - post-partum and/or otherwise. She is trying to fix the life she's made for herself and her children. Her "husband" is uncommunicative and unresponsive, and makes her feel bad because he runs away from her neediness. So she talks to her sister wives. Meri basically tells her to shut up and put up with Kody, 'cause he ain't about to change - not to mention, he doesn't like his wives to complain and rock his boat. She goes to Robyn, who starts to cry (GAHHHHHH!!!) and makes it all about Robyn. Has any of this talking made anything better in Christine's life? No. In fact, I think that with each successive conversation, I would feel worse and worse, more and more lost.

I wonder if she did leave, would her family help her? Isn't this lifestyle programmed deeply into her family's history? Would they excommunicate her for leaving?

She's just raw pain at this point. She was the funny, free, silly wife at first. Now, I feel like she's barely holding herself together. It's hard to watch.

  42. I am new to this blog, but not SW. I, like several others, enjoy the train wreck. I also thought I was the only one morbidly fascinated with polygamy. I read Favorite Wives and went through a polygamy book phase.

I also think maybe Robyn is pregnant. The second she was talking on her own in the first episode rehashing the birth of Sol, both my husband and I said, almost at the same time: "She's pregnant" Her face is larger and when they panned back to the birth, she was skinner then.

I really like Janelle and hope she leaves. Christine seems fun, but kind of a victim (which she is). I felt so bad for her when she was really seeming to try to help Hunter out after the move.

I also agree that Kody seems to be very angry and the wives and kids seem to walk quietly about him. The look in his eyes sometimes feels cold and brutal.

Sorry for the long note, but I am very happy to be able to read and talk about this show. My husband will during the show, but then moves on. I can't seem to.

    1. Hi Samantha!

      Welcome to SWB! I think Robyn's pregnant,too!

    2. I love this blog! It is so refreshing to see that other women see what I see!

Watching the Robchin/Christine Heart to Heart clip. I think I see Christine getting pleasure out of making Robchin crumble and cry. I think Christine may beginning to feel her own power in this whole mess. I hope Christine finds a way to 'get out of Dodge' but sadly I think she is stuck in the abyss due to stupidity and finances.

Also Kody dude is the biggest drama queen dude I have ever seen.

    3. Robyn preggers again already? Nah, I don't think so. Those eps were filmed 5 months ago. If she was *really* pregnant then she would be in her 2nd trimester by now and we would ALL know. Besides, in this past ep she did address the pregnancy issue, saying it was too soon after Sol's birth for her to think about getting PG again, and also doubting Kody's "capacity" whatever she meant by that.

Nope. Not pregnant. What I would bet $100 dollars to a donut is...she's adopted the eating and (ahem) "exercise" habits of the other adults in the family...and as a result is starting to pack on the pounds. I'm sure during *her* nights, she cooks the food that Kody prefers - which I'm sure, judging by his gut, is carb and fat-filled high-calorie crap. I bet she doesn't exercise much because: 1) too busy with kids specifically Sol; 2) too busy with Kody; 3) too hot/cold out to exercise; 4) just doesn't feel like it!

It's inevitable. Meri, who boasted of her "healthy eating" habits in the pilot ep, has gained a LOT of weight since then. Time for her BEST BUD, Robyn, to follow suit.

But it's okay...after all as Robyn herself said...Kody prefers "curvy girls"...yeah right...that was sure borne out by Kody's confession in the book on how he was grossed out by Christine eating nachos...yup yup

    4. I'm totally with CJ on this one. I think she is preggers too
If u rewatch season opener in packing u the car she grabs the coats since on the male bonus kids are doing everything for and her midriff is very thick and with Sol she stated she "carries high". Face way swollen and floating head shots really close. Also her hips from behind are very wide considering her skinny butt when they married.
Thanks so much for the great info, intelligent chatter, so much fun, Cynical Jinx you reviews rock!

    5. @lisasuums - if Robyn IS PG in the first ep this season (filmed this past Xmas, 2 months after Sol's birth) then why wasn't she PG in the interviews on AC, GMA etc earlier this month (she would have been 5 months along at that point)???? What you see in the ep - is baby weight from carrying Sol. Normal after 2 months.

      Delete
    6. Yeah you are right on the timing forgot sol came late in October, but I do think she looked thick for her slight figure in many recent episodes. Just wishful thinking wanting to move on from Christine's pathetic apologies for having emotions and wanting a little TLC.

    7. I do figure it's mostly baby weight, but also general weight gain. From the beginning of this train wreck, she's actually had about 4 years with this crew to "bulk up". On Kody's LIV tetimonial, he boasts that he's gone from a 36" waist to 34". Well, my huband has worn a 34" waist his entire adult life (unlike his fat wife who keep 3 wardrobes on hand at all times) and there is NO WAY Kodster is wearing a 34" or even a 36".

  43. Hmm, if Robyn is pregnant and IF it's true that 'they' don't have sex with a pg wife then old Mare is the go-to wife. Janelle is just the buddy now and Christine is probably getting the cold shoulder. WWKD? What Would Kody do? Go against the spiritual tenet..*gasp?

    1. The only reality shows I watch are the TLC/Discovery shows. I think 4SW + Kate could possibly be the most awesome train wreck of a reality show evar. It would be one show I would refuse to miss. Would there be a throwdown between Kate and Meri for bossiest wife? Would Kate turn on the tears to compete with Robyn? Or would Jannelle put Kate into her place? The storyline possibilities are just so diverse lol.

By the way LOVE the blog!

  45. I don't see any bond between Kody &, his natural children. I don't think they notice weather he's there or not. They all seem to love their mothers, but the children seem to come second to Kody which I don't understand. Nobody comes before my children father or step-father my children are now adults with their own children. This show is on its last season because it don't look fun anymore even their supporters are losing their steam &I seeing it for what it is. The so called plig women on FB could very well be Meri or Robin cause they seem very invested in this family. My second time posting on this blog but I read everything on here.

    1. In Kody's world it appears he is #1, 2, and 3. Robin is #4, Meri #5, and Christine #6. Jennelle is a fluctuating # due to her business acumen and earning potential. The children are enmeshed together as a #7.

  47. I do not believe for a moment that the supporter on fb is a Brown. I have reason to believe she is a complete fraud and imposter. I am currently working on exposing her. She knows less about church doctrine than most of you and her timeline of her life doesn't jive. She repeats what others post in an attempt to appear to beable to conjure an original thought.

  48. I have watched the show off and on and I scream at the television the whole time (leaving my husband shaking his head). For the first time ever I went to the Sister Wives fb TLC page and COULD NOT believe the hogwash some people write. I want to shake every one of them, set them in a room with their own doctrine, scripture, etc and MAKE THEM READ IT. Meri has 1 kid who is a self-sufficient teenager. If this truely was "sister wives", wouldn't we see her helping out and interacting more with her 1/2 children? She does nothing. I see her craft room is nicely stocked. Glad she has a hobby... Why is her house just as big? Surely that make NO financial sense. Ugh, the show and their choice of beliefs is beyond exasperating!

    1. yeah, i so agree about Meri. i thought what an insulting thing she said to Janelle when Janelle was understandably lamenting that her firstborn Logan would be leaving the nest soon. Meri immediately took that away from Janelle by claiming Logan was as much Meri's and the other's wives son as he was Janelle's. bitch. I'm sure Logan would beg to differ. Janelle carried him and birthed him, nurtured and raised him. Not YOU, Meri. Logan has been the one to help Janelle out w/his siblings - not Meri. Christine did help when Janelle worked full-time but didn't have the gall to insult Janelle with that heartless statement.

Robyn and Meri deserve each other as sister rivals. They're both very passive/aggressive manipulative mean-spirited and selfish at heart. They both deserve Kody, too!

    2. Meri's house size was covered in one of the shows when they were looking for houses and Kody talked about her need for LESS space having only one kid. Meri broke down and felt she was not being treated fairly and equally, regardless of family size so got a big house..that is what they show us...and I think Meri's daughter plans on living the life style and become a sister wife..so Meri will be alone in the house.,where they are currently or on the cul de sac that was shown as a potential move..

  49. Can someone please tell me the actual name on the FB page that you are referring to? Are there more than one? I also went to the TLC page and noticed there were a LOT of pics of Truely! Nice!

I still like Christine & Janelle a lot. I would love to see both of them get counseling from a NON-AUB person. Going to an AUB anything would never be of true help to them. They will only be told the BS that Meri gave to Christine.

    ReplyDelete
  50. We talk about how Christine should be angrier with Kody than with Robyn or how stupid is Meri's advice to her to "keep sweet."

But folks, we're overlooking the religious foundation of the "marriages." Yes, Christine's mother may have "left" her father, but she may have also been re-assigned to another man. We are NOT seeing the religious underpinnings of what's going on. Instead, we're perceiving it from our monogamous way of life.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Christens mother actually left the AUB.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anon 6:21 - we know that their faith is what blinds them. That is exactly what the problem IS. This is why people in this "religion" don't like their members to speak to anyone outside of their group about their problems. It is a prime example of cultism. Unfortunately these women will continue to subject themselves to lives of denial, suppressed emotions, unfulfilled desires, jealousy etc. until they can break free. And that won't happen until they realize it themselves. As long as they all stay together in this group obeying Kody's "higher calling" (pause while I barf - some MAN decides if he should take another wife - puuuleeeeease) they are doomed. It's unfathomable to me that they truly believe this is pleasing to God and that they get to go to Kody's planet (not even their own planet!) in the afterlife.

  53. I'm gonna repeat myself, but I'm still hoping that SWB will get a visit from Christine's mom, so she can share her personal story w/ us, etc....Maybe someone here has some PR pull & skills to make this happen! =)

  54. Christine, this is for U & ur SW:
Beyond the color, the make-up, & the smile you put on ur face, your eyes will never deny what you are going thru in life.

Just hope one day U can find inner peace & happiness that U truely deserve =)

  55. Amen CB - I don't think we can say it enough times. Hopefully one of these times the message gets through. No one is asking them to stop believing in God or Jesus Christ. Just stop believing the AUB men.

    ReplyDelete
  56. The conversation between Meri and Christine was hard to follow. It was so disjointed and non sensical. I really found myself having to strain to pay attention. In the end I heard Meri say be nice and Christine seemed like "why the f. did I come talk to Queen Meri?"

    ReplyDelete
  57. How can Christine say "It wasn't you Robchin, it was Kody". Hellooo if he didn't go chasing another wife there wouldn't be a problem. Poor Christine she really did think she would stay the cute, young one with all the kids and the last kids for Kodes.

    ReplyDelete
  58. and Christine goes and tells Kody, "it's really not you. it's me. i'm the one jealous of Robyn and i have to get over not feeling special anymore. it's Robyn's turn now." and the emotionally ill health continues to grow... ugh...

  59. I feel for Christine. I wonder though, did she put herself on a pedestal and Kody knocked her off?

  60. The first season was KINDA cute, but this one just shows people descending into mental illness. Not nice. And shame on TLC for taking advantage of it - but hey, that is reality TV for you!

    1. You are right, that is reality TV, unfortunately....TLC has absolutely no morals or ethics...they will film train wrecks ('Jon and Kate + 8' is a perfect example) as long as people watch....they only care about viewers because they equate them with sponsors and money....having said that, I don't blame TLC totally, I blame the those (parents) that allow their kid's private moments to be broadcast all over the globe....

      Delete
  61. Maybe TLC wants to show the truth?
I thought to each their own. They weren't hurting anybody. Their children seemed happy. They all did. When Robyn came into the family, their life changed for ever and it came upon them so fast. I now see it for what it really is, and now I see how wrong it is for a man to have more than one wife. It isn't a healthy lifestyle for anyone. To allow jealousy in to your life is a sin, so that must mean then we as human beings are not emotionally capable of having more than one spouce/mate/partner. God intended us to avoid what can cause us to sin. This is common knowledge isn't it?
Kody has issues as much as his wives do if he doesn't want to work. He must have the Peter Pan Spirit in him, he will never grow up.
